A friend and photography mentor of mine shared this idea with me: She started Project 365 - a way to document your life with a visual history ..take a photo every day for the year..Thank you Debbie! So I am joining her in this journey. I am going to try and take a photo every day for the year of 2009. Have a look - comment and let me know what your thoughts are. If you have any words of wisdom or suggestions I welcome it. I feel like there is so much I don't know about this new line of work I am in...so let me have it!

"Happy New Years"

Best of friends linked together and enjoying their teenage lives. Addison, Taryn, Robinson..aka Benson, and Julie - have been friends since jr high. They love hanging out and spending time together. The boys introduced Taryn to sushi and bubble tea today - which she enjoyed :) The group spent the evening at our home playing Wii, twister, and karaoke - great times saying goodbye to 2009 and welcoming 2010. Nicholas Scott aka Nicki Poo is one of 5 of my aunties dogs. The girls and I went to visit my Aunt Sandy today - had a lovely time seeing all 5 of her trees and all her beautiful decorations.

Quilt Project

A number of years ago I read an article about a woman who had saved her daughter's t-shirts from activities she was involved in and later made them into a quilt. I had many shirts from softball teams, YMCA basketball, volleyball, even cheer camp - and today I decided I would begin this project - so that someday when my daughter is ready to leave for college I could give her a gift of wonderful memories.

Packing up Christmas

I have always been one that the day after Christmas - the tree comes down and the decorations get packed away until the next year. This year was no different. Time to clean up and even do a little down sizing.

Christmas Banquet

Tonight our church threw a Christmas Banquet for local families in need and those that are homeless. Along with some dear friends we hosted a table - which meant those that ate at our table we would serve them for the evening. It was a wonderful way to spend Christmas Eve.

Merry Christmas One and All!

"Christmas Elf"

My youngest Taylor is busy making a tie blanket for her boy friend for Christmas. It's always so much fun to give a gift that was hand made, for you know a lot of thought and time went into it.

Thank you to everyone who commented on Taryn's birthday picture - of course she was mortified when she found out I wrote about the "break up", but when she read the comments she was very touched. Thank you again.

"Happy 17th Birthday Taryn"

I know what you are thinking...she does not look very happy. She did give me a courtesy smile after this, but this is what we saw most of the day - so this is what I am posting. It's been a week of transition for Taryn and for the rest of us as well. Her boyfriend of 3 years broke things off with her 6 days prior. I realize it's part of growing up, but it's so hard on the heart. She has been very mature about the whole thing - her strength has been amazing. I am so thankful for her strong morals and values. So, as hard as it's been to not see her beautiful smile - I know in time this will pass and she will return to her bubbly self.

"Krumkake"

This delicate Norwegian cookie is called a Krumkake - English pronouciation is krumkaka. I have been making these every year at Christmas since my girls were little. When Taryn was in grade school I would bring a treat for her to share with her class the week before Christmas to celebrate her birthday. I would always bring ice cream too, for they make delightful ice cream cones.

"Sister Chicks"

Tina, myself and Becky - we have been best of friends for 20+ years. When the kids were little we would plan a "shopping day" and would leave at dawn and get home after dinner..and what fun we would have. However, now with todays economy and lack of funds we started meeting for a late breakfast/early lunch and just spend good quality time together. I love these gals - they are my "sister's heaven sent".

My daughter Taryn's 17th birthday is on Tuesday, but tonight we celebrated it with her group of friends. Started off with a Italian dinner, cake and ice cream and then off for a night of Cosmic Bowling. Good times of fun and laughter.

"I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas"
Every year I get a new ornament for my daughters, so that when they move out on their own they will have ornaments for their own tree. When I found this ornament it reminded me of this fun little Christmas song that my girls love - so I had to get it.
